Role Overview - Planner Buyer
Are you an experienced Planner Buyer looking for your next opportunity? We are working on behalf of a leading manufacturer in Gloucestershire who is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join their team. As a Planner Buyer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless coordination of materials and production schedules, while managing supplier relationships to meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities – Planner Buyer
- Develop and manage production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products in line with customer demand and inventory targets
- Liaise with suppliers to manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and ensure materials are available to meet production deadlines
- Monitor stock levels and manage inventory to optimize production efficiency and minimize waste
- Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to forecast material requirements and adjust planning as necessary
- Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement
- Identify potential supply chain risks and implement contingency plans to avoid disruption
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, materials, and suppliers
Qualifications & Requirements – Planner Buyer
- Proven experience in a similar Planner Buyer or Supply Chain role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of production planning, materials management, and inventory control
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build strong supplier relationships
- Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems for planning and procurement
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- A proactive and collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams
- CIPS qualification or equivalent (desirable but not essential)
