Our client is seeking an Internal Sales Engineer to join their dynamic sales team. This role is crucial for the seamless operation of their sales functions, providing direct negotiation with customers, cost builds for estimating, and technical and commercial support. You will need to have a Mechanical Engineering qualification and background for this role, sales and technical experience will also be valued.
Day to Day of the role:- Handling telephone calls and providing technical and commercial troubleshooting for customers.
- Preparing quotations from cost prices, liaising with the manufacturing company and sub-suppliers.
- Providing backup support to the external sales force.
- Observing and qualifying customer purchase orders and resolving technical issues.
- Communicating with headquarters.
- Deputising for colleagues in the internal office during absences.
- Working proficiently with computers and data systems, including ERP & CRM systems.
- Engineering Degree, ideally mechanical but other disciplines will be considered.
- Strong telephone sales skills with the ability to identify customer needs through effective questioning techniques.
- Engineering skills to advise customers on options and the merits of each to solve their problems.
- Proficiency in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and CRM systems, as well as Microsoft Office and general IT skills.
- AutoCAD experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
