Garment Technologist

We are seeking a Garment Technologist with a minimum of 3 years of experience in garment development. This hands-on role covers all aspects of product development, from initial specifications and prototype development to production and shipment approvals. While the focus is on clothing, experience in accessories, footwear, or homeware would be beneficial but is not essential.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Establish and implement quality standards for products.
  • Manage development and production critical paths to ensure timely sign-offs and product launches.
  • Collaborate with Buying and Design teams to resolve issues before production.
  • Work closely with suppliers to resolve manufacturing issues and minimize delays or quality concerns.
  • Support the team with corrective actions for factories based on shipment sample approvals.
  • Ensure continuity of quality standards and minimal risk to delivery dates.
  • Provide final sign-off for bulk shipments upon approval.
  • Measure and report on supplier quality and efficiency performance.
  • Advise factories on garment pattern changes to improve fit.
  • Maintain and improve size specifications and grading, addressing issues from fit sessions or customer feedback.
  • Develop new garment blocks/specifications as required.
  • Support Buying and Design throughout the product development cycle and manage the critical path.
  • Maintain compliance information for each factory and ensure factory audits are up to date.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of experience in garment development.
  • Strong understanding of product development processes.
  • Ability to establish and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Proficient in managing critical paths and meeting launch dates.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work closely with suppliers.
  • Experience in providing final approvals for bulk shipments.
  • Knowledge of garment fitting and pattern adjustments.
  • Familiarity with size specification, grading, and customer feedback integration.
  • Experience with factory compliance and audits is desirable.
