  • Ensuring compliance with the Solicitors' Accounts Rules
  • Daily banking including using online banking facilities, transferring funds between accounts, making electronic payments and recording receipts
  • Handling general enquiries and resolving queries (internal only)
  • Reconciling bank, petty cash and general ledgers
  • Processing of client Billing accounts receivable and issuing client and office cheques
  • Paying interest on client account monies
  • Assisting with paying suppliers via the online banking system
  • General administration and housekeeping of files and ledgers
  • Contacting bank with queries and cheque cancellations
  • Reconciliation of control accounts as required
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in general accounting procedures in compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules in legal practice
  • Credit control advantageous
  • Accuracy & attention to detail is essential
  • Methodical approach to work
  • Excellent communication face to face and telephone
  • Proficient IT skills - Word, Excel
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Committed team-worker
  • SOS Practice Manager knowledge advantageous but not essential
  • Visualfiles CMS knowledge advantageous but not essential
