HGV Class 1 DriverThame, Oxfordshire(Days) £21.14 per hour(Nights) £26.02 per hourPertemps Didcot are exclusively recruiting for HGV Class 1 Drivers for BOC, one of the most prestigious Gas companies in the UK. We are looking for several Day Drivers and several Night Drivers on a full-time basis.Successful candidates will be trained on ADR for the delivery of bulk gases, before starting as a driver. Candidates will complete internal classroom training until the ADR card arrives. Training will take place for 2-3 months upon starting and will be doing on the day shift pattern.You will be issued with complete PPE & uniform. The company offer continuous work-related training programmes which in some cases count towards driver CPC modules.As the HGV Class 1 Driver you will be:
  • Delivering product to internal and external customers
  • Filling and analysing own tankers and high-pressure trailers
  • Carrying out minor repairs to vehicles using basic hand tools such as screwdrivers and spanners
  • Coupling and uncoupling of motive units, towing vehicles from tankers & trailers
  • Occasionally working away from base
To be successful as the HGV Class 1 Driver you will:
  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Be prepared to carry out trunking or same day return to depot routes
  • Be able to interact with internal and external customers
  • Have a high level of safety awareness
  • Have possessed an HGV C+E licence for a minimum of 3 years with a minimum of 180 days experience within the last 12 months
  • Possession of DQC (AKA Drivers CPC)
  • Have no more than 3 penalty points on your driving licence
  • Have a good understanding of EU and WTD tachograph legislation
  • Have a high level of personal Integrity
More about the role:
  • Monday to Friday with opportunity for weekend work

  • Nights - Approximate start 17:00pm-18:00pm
  • Shift length 10-12 hours (average)
