Working closely with the Engineering Manager, you will take on leadership of defined tasks and assist with the general management of the team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned engineer with a passion for design and leadership to further their career in the aerospace industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Engineering Manager with all aspects of leading the Engineering team
- Own and lead defined tasks, including process improvement and supporting the forthcoming AS9100 implementation
- Carry out 3D CAD development, working with customer surface/packaging data, from concept through to serial production
- Create high-quality, concise engineering drawings and progress these through the Engineering Change Management process
- Ensure all time, cost, quality, and weight targets are monitored, managed, and met
- Communicate effectively and professionally with customers, suppliers, and colleagues
- Deputise for the Engineering Manager as required
- Occasional international travel to support the broad customer base
Job Requirements:
- Experience in using Siemens SolidEdge CAD is a distinct advantage
- Proven track record of managing projects from concept through to manufacture
- Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent experience
- Experience within a mechanical engineering field
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Team player, enthusiastic with a positive 'can do' attitude
- Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and manage own time to meet required deadlines
- Aircraft Cabin Interior Engineering experience is a bonus but not essential
