Responsibilities:

  • Manage vehicle routing for daily operations, ensuring routes are achievable and compliant with vehicle limitations.
  • Ensure all pallets are appropriately labelled and allocated to the correct vehicles, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance and compliance with the Working Time Directive and Traffic Commissioner guidelines.
  • Provide leadership and support to drivers and supervisors, acting as their primary contact for day-to-day queries.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance in all transport activities, reviewing risk assessments and participating in safety briefings.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation, fostering strong relationships within the team.

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum GCSE or equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience in Transport/Vehicle Management or a similar field.
  • Valid Transport Managers CPC and HGV driving licence.
  • Counterbalance forklift licence.
  • Supervisory experience in a logistics environment.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong leadership, flexibility, and the ability to work under pressure.
