Our client is one of the country’s largest housing associations, building and maintaining high quality homes for customers in London and the South of England.  They are currently looking for an experienced Building Surveyor to carry out detailed property inspections on occupied and void properties across a patch in Berkshire, including routine and complex repairs issues and Damp & Mould surveys.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proven Surveyor with a background in social housing repairs and maintenance to join an organisation where you will be supported to develop your skills in exchange for a competitive salary and industry leading benefits package.  As a Building Surveyor you will be responsible for carrying out internal and external inspections to domestic properties, produce work specifications and provide costs and recommendations for appropriate remedial actions.  In addition to advising the technical team and managing complex projects, your role will also involve liaising with residents and contractors, monitoring work quality and ensuring value for money and customer satisfaction.

The successful applicant to the role of Building Surveyor will possess the following:

  • Excellent understanding of construction and building methods gained through proven experience in a similar capacity, ideally for a housing provider or local authority
  • Ability to produce accurate reports, work orders and specifications using NHF SORs and other tools
  • Budget management experience
  • HND / HNC or other relevant qualification with extensive work-based experience
  • Professional qualification such as MRICS or MCIOB would be highly desirable
  • Full clean UK driving license with access to a vehicle for business use

If you meet the criteria above and are looking for a move to a thriving organisation who are truly committed to getting the best out of their people, we’d love to hear from you.  Apply today or contact Elise at Build Recruitment for more information.
