Our client, a leading supplier of high-quality Childrenswear, is seeking a proactive and experienced Garment Technologist to join their dynamic team. Specific Childrenswear experience is not required for this role, just the ability to take a proactive approach to learning.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work with designers and manufacturers to ensure designs are technically feasible, cost-effective, and high-quality.
* Conduct fabric tests to meet industry standards and regional regulations (e.g., REACH, fibre composition, product safety). Manage risk, testing, and resolve non-compliance issues.
* Conduct fit sessions, assess construction, and provide detailed feedback for improvements.
* Maintain accurate specifications, patterns, measurements, and production guidelines for suppliers.
* Ensure garments meet specifications and quality standards throughout the production process.
* Communicate with suppliers regarding garment construction, materials, and quality, offering technical support.
* Inspect final garments to ensure they meet brand standards, conducting pre-shipment quality checks.
* Work closely with internal and external teams to solve technical challenges and ensure smooth production processes.
Who You Are:
* Multi-product expertise and experience working directly with factories.
* Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabric technology, and testing.
* Pattern-cutting knowledge and familiarity with grading are highly desirable.
* Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills.
* Confident in using Outlook, Excel, and Word with a willingness to expand technical skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
