General Workshop Production Operative / Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator Required for a precision sheet metal fabrication company based in Thatcham, Berkshire.
ALL LEVELS OF EXPERIENCE CONSIDERED FULL TRAINING PROVIDED
Ideally, youll have previous metalwork / fabrication / manufacturing experience. However, the company will consider candidates who are keen to enter the industry. Although, you will need to have some basic experience using hand tools, such as angle grinders, drills, hammers, screwdrivers etc.
SALARY: £12 - £14 per Hour (Depending on Experience) + 25 Days Annual Leave (includes 3 Days for the Christmas Shutdown)
LOCATION: Thatcham, Berkshire (You should live within 15 miles maximum to Thatcham)
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 8am 4:30pm Monday to Thursday and 8am 2pm Fridays

As a General Workshop Production Operative / Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing / production process.
Working as a General Workshop Production Operative / Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator your primary duties will include the cutting, deburring, drilling, and assembly of sheet metal components.
As a successful candidate you will work closely with an experienced team to ensure that all products meet the companys exacting standards.

DUTIES
Your duties as a General Workshop Production Operative / Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator include:
- Cutting: Accurately measure and cut sheet metal to specified dimensions using appropriate tools and machinery
- Deburring: Smooth rough edges and remove burrs from metal components to prepare them for further processing
- Drilling: Drill precise holes in metal components according to technical drawings and specifications
- Assembly: Assemble sheet metal components into finished products, ensuring all parts are correctly aligned and securely fastened
- Quality Control: Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality, making adjustments as necessary to meet specifications
- Health & Safety: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, maintaining a clean and organised workspace
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in workshop manufacturing / sheet metal fabrication, including cutting, deburring, drilling, and assembly would be highly desirable. Although not essential. The company will consider all levels of experience providing you can demonstrate you have some experience using hand tools such as angle grinders, drills, hammers, screwdrivers etc. and are keen to enter the industry
- Strong attention to detail and precision in work
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
DESIRABLE
- Previous experience in a similar role within the manufacturing or engineering sector
- Familiarity with operating workshop machinery such as guillotines, drills, and grinders within a commercial environment
