Kitchen Assistant
Shift Pattern: 12pm 8pm, 5 days out of 7, Monday - Sunday
39 weeks a year (term time only plus 5 weeks)
Downe House is a leading secondary independent boarding and day school for girls. We operate an in-house fully catered service for pupils and staff which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week. In addition, we hold numerous catered events and formal dinners each year.
We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to support the production of meals alongside the Chefs for our lunch and dinner service, plus other catered events. The Kitchen Assistant will assist with the day to day running of the kitchen, food preparation for the salad/deli bar and packed lunches, and responsibility for food hygiene and allergen information.
Ideally, you will have previous experience in a similar catering role involving food preparation. Experience of working in contract catering or hospitality is desirable. Knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety is useful, however full training will be given.
