We are looking to hire a Qualified Specialist Teacher and welcome them to our team at a brilliant SEN school based in Thatcham, West Berkshire. Our school caters to students with SEMH needs, Autism, ADHD and other additional needs so we are looking for a Specialist Teacher that has an understanding of special educational needs. Our school is dedicated to engaging students with their education and learning, with a personalised approach. We want to welcome a dedicated Specialist Teacher to supporting students as soon as possible!

The school has just opened the doors to a newly developed building, with the aim of providing children with high standards of education and personalised support, tailored to their needs. As a Specialist Teacher, you will be planning and delivering a varying curriculum to neurodiverse children with additional needs related to speech, communication, cognitive skills and sensory/physical needs.

Specialist Teacher Key Tasks:

  • Supporting a class of 4-5 students
  • Planning, leading and teaching classroom activities
  • Monitoring and recording progress both academically and against EHCP's
  • Working closely to keep students engaged, motivated and inspired
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants so they can effectively support pupils

We are looking for a Qualified Teacher who is compassionate, resilient and committed to heling pupils reach their potential. Communication skills are key, both verbal and written communication will be a big part of your role.
