Position: Classroom Welfare Assistant

Location: Thatcham

Hours of Work: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Term Time

Pay Daily Rate: £83 - £90

The successful Classroom Welfare Assistant will be focusing on KS1 mentoring and supporting Thatcham pupils.

General Classroom Welfare Assistant duties:

  • Ensuring a tidy and maintained classroom and work set up for the mornings, assisting with anything that the class teacher needs support.
  • Working on a 1:1 or small group basis with children who have varying additional needs. The ideal applicant will be: - Confident working on a 1:1 or small group basis
  • Experience providing support to children who have a range of additional needs (SEN/SENCO) such as Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Challenging behaviour when required.
  • Creative and engaging approach to learning Able to monitor and provide feedback on learning and progress Ability to create interactive activities to keep them involved and interested.
  • Passionate about making a difference in the social and academic development of children. With the ability to adapt to each of the Thatchamstudents' individual needs.
  • General awareness of Safeguarding of the KS1 (Year 1), reporting to the DLS of any concerns.
