About the Company:


Our client is a leading social housing contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality housing projects. Specialising in both complex housing developments and SHDF works, they are a growing presence within the social housing sector. They are now looking for an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join their team and play a key role in the successful delivery of these essential projects.

Role Overview:


As a Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control and financial management on various social housing projects across Berkshire. You will also occasionally need to travel to the company's head office in Hertfordshire for meetings and collaboration. This is a great opportunity to work on high-impact, community-focused projects with a well-established contractor in the social housing sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide cost management and financial control on social housing projects, from pre-construction through to final account.
  • Prepare and manage Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and ensure accurate reporting of project finances.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents, including pricing and cost estimates.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and the project team to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Negotiate costs and contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across sites.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential cost overruns, ensuring corrective actions are taken.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor in the social housing sector.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
  • Proven track record of managing social housing and SHDF projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and internal teams.
  • A full driving licence is essential for site visits across Berkshire.
