Sales Engineer required for our client, an established Air Conditioning Contractor in Berkshire who carry out Design, Installations, PPM & Reactive Maintenance projects in numerous sectors within the industry including, commercial, telecoms, computer and data centres, health, education and industrial.

An opportunity has now arisen for a Sales Engineer to serve and develop an existing customer base, with some new business development also being required, targeting businesses along the M3 and M4 corridor, with occasional travel into London. You will design and prepare quotations for various projects including air conditioning, ductwork and supporting building services.

Sales Engineer Position Overview

  • Site survey visits to establish customer requirements.
  • Working with end users and consultants
  • Carry out design and selection of DX, VRF plus CRAC systems, and associated ductwork where necessary.
  • Arrange and attend site meetings and obtain quotations from sub-contractors
  • Liaison with Project Engineering staff where needed for site specific site issues
  • Prepare customer quotes
  • Working closely with internal departments including Service (including in-house mobile engineers), Projects & Administration

Sales Engineer Position Requirements

  • A technical understanding of the commercial air conditioning industry, with the skills and knowledge to survey, design and quote installation contracts.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills to liaise with clients and their project teams, plus supply-chain.
  • Previous experience, in a technical sales role within the air conditioning industry, highly advantageous
  • This role could also suit, a technical manager / ex engineer, who might be looking to move into a sales role
  • Knowledge of HevaComp and or AutoCAD would be an advantage, but not essential.
  • Flexible with travel
  • Based within commutable distance of Thatcham
  • Full UK driving license

Sales Engineer Position Remuneration

  • Basic Salary £40,000 - £45,000 DOE
  • Commission = 1.5% of project sales (circa £11,250 for an average year to £15,000+)
  • Car allowance - circa £6,000 per annum
  • General OTE circa £51,250 - £66,000+
  • Profit related annual bonus
  • 28 days' holiday including bank holidays
