Accounts Assistant

30,000 - 32,000 PA, Full Time, Permanent.

My client a well known and respected local employer is seeking a dedicated Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. In this role, you will support the Finance Manager and contribute to the overall efficiency of their financial operations. Your organisational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities will help propel their business forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring the accuracy and timelines of financial transactions.
  • Process ordering/Purchase Ordering
  • Maintain detailed customer records and set up new accounts to guarantee correct payment amounts.
  • Prepare and input invoice batches into the accounts payable system daily, ensuring timely processing for weekly pay runs.
  • Process expenses and invoices, coordinating approvals as necessary.
  • General credit control and debt collection.
  • Handle sales invoices and resolve related queries in accordance with company policies.
  • Conduct daily banking activities and reconcile bank statements.
  • Assist with procurement, payroll, and month-end preparations.
  • Provide clients with guidance on accounts payable procedures, bank transfers, and travel claims.
  • Address inquiries from suppliers, consultants, and clients regarding payment statuses, fostering strong supplier relationships.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant
  • Proficiency with SAGE 50 essential.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and enthusiastically under pressure, prioritise tasks, and use initiative with a keen eye for detail.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 28,000.00-32,000.00 per year
