Are you an English Instructor with a passion for making a difference in the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? GSL Education’sChelmsford branch is looking for a dynamic English Instructor for ourClient SEMH School. We have an exciting opportunity to join a specialist SEMH school in Southend where you can focus purely on teaching without the added responsibilities of planning, preparing, or marking.
Job Summary:
As an English Instructor, you will deliver engaging and accessible lessons to students, helping them develop their literacy skills and confidence in the subject. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic and supportive environment and enjoys working with students who require extra care and understanding.
Key Responsibilities for English Instructor:
- Deliver pre-prepared English lessons to students with SEMH needs.
- Adapt your teaching style to meet the individual needs of each student.
- Support students in improving their literacy, communication, and comprehension skills.
- Manage classroom behavior calmly and constructively.
- Foster a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere.
Qualifications for English Instructor:
- Experience teaching or instructing English, preferably in an SEMH or special education setting.
- A compassionate and patient approach to working with vulnerable students.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Support class without adding any planning, preparing, or marking
- The ability to motivate and engage students with diverse learning needs.
- Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the needs of the school day.
