Key Responsibilities
As a Maths Teacher, you will:
Teaching and Learning:
- Design and deliver dynamic and engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum, tailored to students in Key Stages 2 and 3.
- Use innovative teaching strategies to cater to various learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students can achieve their potential.
- Regularly assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to students and parents.
Classroom Management:
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting mutual respect and a love for mathematics.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and implement effective classroom management strategies in line with school policies.
Collaboration and Contribution:
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and refine the maths curriculum and share best practices.
- Contribute to the wider school community through participation in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and extracurricular activities.
- Support the school's ethos by actively promoting its values and initiatives.
Parental Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate who embodies passion for mathematics and dedication to teaching. The ideal candidate will have:
Essential:
- Qualifications: A recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE, with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience: Proven experience teaching mathematics at Key Stages 2 and/or 3.
- Subject Knowledge: A deep understanding of the maths curriculum, with the ability to break down complex concepts into accessible learning objectives.
- Skills: Strong communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and parents.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a middle school setting.
- A proven track record of raising attainment in mathematics.
- The ability to contribute to extracurricular activities, such as a maths club or competitions.
