This role will last for 12 months and part/full times roles can be discussed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and Deliver High-Quality Lessons: Teach engaging and dynamic French and/or Spanish lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, catering to varying levels of ability.
- Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development of the MFL curriculum, including creating innovative resources and schemes of work that enhance student engagement and achievement.
- Monitor and Assess Student Progress: Use formative and summative assessments to track student progress, provide constructive feedback, and implement effective strategies to support individual learning needs.
- Support Extracurricular Activities: Lead or assist in extracurricular clubs, language exchanges, or cultural trips to enhance students' exposure to the language and culture outside the classroom.
- Collaboration and Professional Development: Work closely with the MFL department and participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best teaching practices.
- Promote a Positive Learning Environment: Establish and maintain a safe, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm for learning languages.
Requirements:
- Must be a qualified teacher.
- Experience: Demonstrable experience teaching French and/or Spanish at the secondary school level (experience with GCSEs is preferred).
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to build rapport with students and effectively communicate complex language concepts.
- Passion for Languages and Culture: Enthusiasm for promoting language learning and cultural awareness among students.
- Classroom Management: Strong skills in maintaining discipline and managing a positive learning environment.
