HRGO Recruitment are seeking an Overnight Welfare Officer to join our clients research institution based in Thatcham. The successful candidate will be required to have a valid DBS or subject to a new DBS clearance just before start date.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and responsible individual to provide apprenticeship students with supervision during overnight stays. The successful candidate will be a point of contact for any queries and concerns students may have and ensure a safeguarded environment outside of the educational facility.

Responsibilities:

  • To be aware and have strong understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection Policies.
  • Create a safe and caring atmosphere for students during their overnight stays.
  • Act as the first point of contact for students regarding safeguarding issues and general queries
  • Input accurate records of events and incidents.
  • Ensure all students feel safe and cared for.
  • Respond appropriately to safeguarding situations.
  • Ensure the well-being and safety of all delegates under your care.

Qualifications:

  • Valid in date DBS check or subject to clearance
  • Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection Policies
  • Experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work overnight and be on call as required

Care and Supervision:

  • Be on-site from 6pm, available in communal areas during the key social period of 6pm to 9:30pm.
  • Provide overnight supervision and be on call until at least 8am
