Academics LTD is partnering with a highly regarded SEN school in Thatcham, which offers specialized personal support for children aged 5 to 18 with social, emotional, and mental health needs. The school is currently looking for a friendly and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.

Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

  • A solid understanding of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges
  • The ability to support children with diverse needs such as Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, behavioural challenges, sensory impairments, physical disabilities, and communication difficulties
  • Assist in helping students develop social skills and emotional regulation
  • A genuine interest in working with children or in the Special Educational Needs (SEN) sector
  • A cheerful demeanour and the ability to remain calm under pressure

For Psychology or Criminology graduates, this position is perfect for gaining experience within an educational setting. Whether your goal is to work in the psychology or mental health field, this is a fantastic environment to develop your skills. Recognized qualifications include a Degree, Level 3 qualifications, or other relevant experience with SEN children, but prior experience is not essential.

This is also a great stepping stone for anyone considering a career in Education, Teaching, or Mental Health.
