We are currently working with a leading law firm in East Anglia who are seeking a Patent Administrator to join their busy team. This role will initially be a maternity contract. However, there is always the possibility that the role could become permanent.

A suitable candidate will have existing IP experience within patents, this could be as an Patent Administrator or Patent Paralegal - if you have trade mark experience with an interest in transferring your knowledge to patents, this might also be considered. A CIPA qualification might be an advantage, although this is not essential. Strong administration and communication skills will be required for this role.

The purpose of this role will be to provide high quality administrative support to Patent Attorneys. Duties will be wide-ranging and you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and filing patent applications.
  • Ensuring cases within the firm’s IP management database are kept updated, including raising new cases / closing old cases.
  • Effectively liaising with clients, via telephone, email etc, answering queries and advising them where possible.
  • Acknowledging client instructions and acting upon these accordingly.
  • Issuing client invoices.
