Reed Finance been retained by a global Manufacturing business in East Anglia to recruit their next Finance Director.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Finance Director to oversee the international financial operations and strategic financial planning for our client.

Reporting to the CFO, you will lead a large finance team spanning multiple continents, with a select group of experienced direct reports.

This executive post requires close collaboration at board level and involves significant interaction with the CFO. The successful candidate will be instrumental in steering financial strategies and ensuring the financial integrity of the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key member of the Leadership Team, providing strategic financial insights.
  • Oversee and mentor the finance team, ensuring professional development and succession planning.
  • Maintain continuous communication with the CFO regarding all significant financial strategies and decisions.
  • Act as Director for multiple corporate holdings, managing compliance with legal and statutory requirements.
  • Deliver comprehensive financial forecasting and reporting to support strategic planning.
  • Implement cost management strategies and develop financial models to support strategic initiatives and decision-making.
  • Manage the preparation of financial forecasts, analyse business trends, and oversee cash management focusing on capital and operational expenditures.
  • Synthesise business analytics and provide executive summaries that convey past performance and future projections.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and provide insights into operational performance.
  • Report on forecast accuracy, identify improvement opportunities, and initiate enhancements.
  • Communicate pertinent information about current business challenges and opportunities to Senior Leadership.

Education and Experience:

  • Degree educated.
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Proven leadership experience within a multinational environment, with comprehensive knowledge of financial operations and strategic planning.
  • Expertise in Financial Planning & Analysis, preferably within a manufacturing context.
  • Familiarity with corporate finance functions including tax, treasury, and financing.
  • Effective budget management and financial forecasting.
  • Ability to effectively communicate financial concepts to stakeholders at all levels within the organization.

Leadership Skills:

  • Recognised as a strategic advisor with a broad business perspective.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to forge strong relationships across business units.
  • Independent and proactive approach to managing tasks and responsibilities.
  • High ethical standards and reliability, with a focus on urgent and results-oriented outcomes.
