- Manage storage and identification of components and raw materials, adhering to batch control, stock rotation, and first-in-first-out principles.
- Support the Stores and Purchasing functions to ensure smooth operations.
- Use the company’s ERP system for stock control, issuing items via pick lists, and tracking consumables.
- Identify and resolve kit shortages, working closely with the Purchasing department to prevent production delays.
- Handle procurement responsibilities for specific product groups.
- Oversee the control of materials sent for sub-contract processing.
- Conduct regular cycle counts to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Quality, and Production teams to avoid material stock-outs or quality issues.
- Attend daily production meetings to assist in planning daily activities.
- Collate and provide product documentation (e.g., material certificates, test reports) as needed.
- Provide cover for the Storeman during holidays or sickness.
- Perform general administration, housekeeping, and stock-taking duties as required.
- Previous experience in a stores or inventory role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment is advantageous.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems is beneficial (training will be provided).
- Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Forklift license is preferred; training will be provided if not currently held.
