Warehouse SupervisorLocation: ThetfordSalary: £30,000 - £35,000 About the RoleWe are looking for a proactive and hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to join our team at their site in Thetford. In this role, you will take ownership of daily warehouse operations, ensuring that all customer orders are dispatched on time and in full. You will lead a dedicated team, drive efficiency, and promote a culture of continuous improvement. You will also be responsible for maintaining high operational standards, ensuring health and safety compliance, and optimising warehouse space utilisation. Key Responsibilities for the Warehouse Supervisor:
  • Manage and motivate the warehouse team, delegating tasks efficiently and ensuring all staff are performing at their best.
  • Conduct disciplinary and investigatory meetings, return-to-work interviews, and provide regular feedback to team members.
  • Provide ongoing training for warehouse systems, MHE (Material Handling Equipment), and procedures to enhance team competency and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Organise and oversee unloading, storage, order picking, and stock returns, optimising workflow to maximise productivity.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation, minimising waste and maintaining accurate inventory records through diligent stock control practices.
  • Ensure a safe working environment, enforce company policies, conduct risk assessments, and promote a culture of safety awareness among staff.
  • Work with the Warehouse Manager to track, report, and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs), implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Open and secure the site daily, ensuring the warehouse is clean, organised, and fit for purpose at all times.
  • Act as the emergency contact for site security and other urgent warehouse-related matters outside of regular working hours.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, streamline processes, and enhance warehouse space utilisation to maximise efficiency.
  • Assist with unloading containers, picking orders, and other warehouse duties when needed to ensure smooth operations and meet daily targets.
 Previous experience for the Warehouse Supervisor:
  • Previous experience managing a warehouse team, overseeing day-to-day operations, and ensuring operational excellence.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise workloads effectively, and maintain an efficient and structured warehouse environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, instruct, and support a diverse team of warehouse staff.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) to support administrative tasks.
  • Forklift licence, preferably Bendi/Flex truck but this is preferred and not essential.
