- Manage and motivate the warehouse team, delegating tasks efficiently and ensuring all staff are performing at their best.
- Conduct disciplinary and investigatory meetings, return-to-work interviews, and provide regular feedback to team members.
- Provide ongoing training for warehouse systems, MHE (Material Handling Equipment), and procedures to enhance team competency and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Organise and oversee unloading, storage, order picking, and stock returns, optimising workflow to maximise productivity.
- Ensure proper stock rotation, minimising waste and maintaining accurate inventory records through diligent stock control practices.
- Ensure a safe working environment, enforce company policies, conduct risk assessments, and promote a culture of safety awareness among staff.
- Work with the Warehouse Manager to track, report, and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs), implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Open and secure the site daily, ensuring the warehouse is clean, organised, and fit for purpose at all times.
- Act as the emergency contact for site security and other urgent warehouse-related matters outside of regular working hours.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, streamline processes, and enhance warehouse space utilisation to maximise efficiency.
- Assist with unloading containers, picking orders, and other warehouse duties when needed to ensure smooth operations and meet daily targets.
- Previous experience managing a warehouse team, overseeing day-to-day operations, and ensuring operational excellence.
- Ability to multitask, prioritise workloads effectively, and maintain an efficient and structured warehouse environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, instruct, and support a diverse team of warehouse staff.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) to support administrative tasks.
- Forklift licence, preferably Bendi/Flex truck but this is preferred and not essential.
- Travel: Occasional travel to our other sites may be required.
