Contract Personnel are recruiting on behalf of our client based in Watton who are looking for QC Inspector (Goods In) to join their team on a permanent basis.

About the role

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Inspection of incoming products to ensure consistency and integrity. Inspections to include, but not limited to: - dimensional inspections to design drawings for form, fit & function (using a tape measure, callipers etc.), electrical circuit resistance, coating thickness & condition, PMI. Material and works test reports for traceability and compliance with order specifications.
  • To process and communicate with external providers any rejections and corrective action reports relating to incoming products.
  • To inspect, including verification of parts against order, visual & electrical testing of spares orders and process to dispatch department.
  • Processing of inspection data – hard and soft copy records.
  • To produce detailed and accurate inspection records and assist in resolving any resulting issues.
  • Liaising with Engineers, Production Supervisors and production staff as appropriate to discuss and resolve any issues arising regarding heater bundles, pressure vessels and control panels.
  • To support and aid the training of any trainee/new staff as required.
  • To work in accordance with the Quality and Health & Safety Management systems meeting the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001.
  • Other work as required as part of the Quality Control team.
  • Complying with all standards, internal policies and specifications that apply to the finished product.

Skills and experience required:

  • A positive and proactive attitude and be able to use their own initiative
  • The ability to work well in a dynamic and pressured workshop environment,
  • The ability to work and organise workload independently and as part of team,
  • A methodical, reliably systematic approach to work,
  • A good eye for detail,
  • A keen approach and willingness to learn, and
  • Good computer literacy.
  • Experience of hazardous area and high pressure equipment manufacture
  • Knowledge / experience of the inspection of electrical / mechanical products within an Oil and Gas/ Petro-chemical / Pharmaceutical environment
  • A thorough understanding and use of standard measuring equipment,
  • The ability to read engineering drawings, and
  • An understanding / knowledge of ATEX, PD5500
