- Source, plan, and expedite purchase orders to meet production schedules and spare parts demands.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring effective communication.
- Process purchase orders for capital and flow parts based on customer demand, forecasts, and system inputs.
- Address and resolve material quality, pricing, and supply issues, as well as delivery and invoice discrepancies.
- Identify and implement process improvements and support cross-functional projects.
- Collaborate with internal departments to manage supply challenges that may impact operations.
- Act as a liaison between suppliers and relevant departments for purchasing processes and new projects.
- Monitor and assess risks and opportunities related to procurement.
- Negotiate contracts, improve pricing and terms, and identify cost-saving opportunities using procurement best practices.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
- Commercial and financial awareness, understanding the impact of procurement on production and customer fulfillment.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage urgent situations.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP experience beneficial).
- Previous experience within a purchasing role, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of procurement, negotiation, and cost analysis.
- Experience working closely with suppliers and leading supplier meetings.
- Proven ability to add value, reduce costs, and contribute to business improvements.
- Understanding of automotive processes and components is advantageous.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- CIPS qualification or working towards one is desirable but not essential.
