Join an established business in the health & beauty sector, as a Buyer within their Procurement Team. This role offers the opportunity to provide buying expertise, manage categories effectively, and support sourcing within the company. You will play a crucial role in building relationships with suppliers to optimise price, availability, and quality of products.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Support the Buying Team in developing and executing effective procurement strategies.
  • Build and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure optimal terms and conditions.
  • Negotiate, place, and expedite orders with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials for production.
  • Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to maintain the availability and timeliness of materials.
  • Participate actively in cross-functional teams to drive continuous process and procedural improvements.
  • Monitor order prices against standards with the objective of reducing costs.
  • Generate reports to provide visibility on category performance and support decision-making processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven buying experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally with a background in Components, Chemicals, or the health & beauty industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills, including the ability to negotiate prices and terms effectively.
  • Proficiency in IT, particularly Excel.
  • GCSE level (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with all levels of the business.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Self-motivated and driven, with the ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • A proactive team player with a positive attitude, honesty, and hardworking nature.
  • Ability to work independently and make logical decisions within the role’s scope.
  • Capability to follow procedures and instructions while also challenging and improving existing processes.
