Job Opportunity: Technical Senior BuyerLocation: WattonDays: Monday to Friday Hours: 39 hoursWe're on the lookout for a Technical Procurement Specialist on behalf of our client to join their dynamic team. We're seeking someone with a keen eye for detail, a robust understanding of both mechanical and electrical engineering processes, and a passion for driving efficiency in procurement practices.Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Execute technical procurement activities, ensuring a delicate balance between quality, delivery, and cost considerations in a project-based manufacturing setting.
  • Spearhead supplier selection and development initiatives, evaluating potential partners based on stringent criteria such as quality standards, delivery capabilities, and cost competitiveness.
  • Utilise a comprehensive understanding of mechanical and electrical processes to engage effectively with suppliers and evaluate technical requirements.
  • Create and maintain supplier accounts on our ERP system, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
  • Monitor actual costs against budget documents, communicating any discrepancies to Project Managers promptly.
  • Expedite Purchase Orders to ensure materials align with monthly output targets and manufacturing programs.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders to provide timely updates on supply status and ensure seamless production operations.
  • Identify new vendors, supply methods, and system improvements to optimise purchasing and stock control processes.
  • Contribute to cost reduction, product development, and process improvement projects as needed.
  • Assist in the implementation of new Supply Chain processes and procedures.
Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing-based purchasing role.
  • A comprehensive understanding of both mechanical and electrical processes.
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering CAD drawings.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Flexible approach, adept at adapting to changing requirements.
  • Excellent computer literacy, particularly in Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Optional:
  • CIPS certification (Or working towards).
  • Engineering-related qualification.
