On behalf of our Thetford based client we re seeking a skilled QA/Laboratory Supervisor to join their team.
You will oversee the daily operations of a quality control laboratory and, in this pivotal role, ensure the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of test results, contributing directly to the production of high-quality products.
The successful candidate will lead a team of lab technicians, develop and implement testing protocols, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hands-on approach to developing and implementing best practice quality procedures, particularly within a manufacturing environment.
  • Serve as the primary contact for quality issues related to fluids and raw materials.
  • Contribute to new business initiatives and projects, and assess their impact on QC laboratory activities.
  • Support the onboarding process for new customers.
  • Ensure audit readiness for your area of responsibility.
  • Conduct testing of components and products to established standards.
  • Perform audits in line with GMP standards.
  • Monitor the quality of finished goods in production and address any identified issues.
  • Support manufacturing and material trials.
  • Lead, manage, and motivate laboratory technicians to achieve high performance.
  • Engage with suppliers as needed.
  • Managing daily laboratory operations, ensuring accurate and timely test results.
  • Training and managing laboratory staff
  • Maintaining compliance with industry regulations, developing and refining testing procedures, and continually improving laboratory performance.
  • Maintaining thorough documentation
  • Collaborating with other departments
  • Driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Upholding the highest standards of safety and quality in all laboratory operations
Skills and Experience Required:
    • Supervisory experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within an FMCG industry.
    • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Chemist) are desirable.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Excellent people management and leadership skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in troubleshooting complex technical issues.
    • Exceptional attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and as part of a cross-functional team.
    • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
The hours of work are Monday to Friday 0900-1700 and the salary is £30,000 per annum.
