Our client is seeking an experienced Research Associates to support project work assigned by the DMPK Team Leader. The role involves undertaking routine tasks related to the development of new compounds entering the department.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree (BSc, MSc, or PhD) in life sciences or a related scientific discipline. This position is also suitable for recent PhD students looking to gain experience in Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK). Full training will be provided.

Duties:

  • Perform general laboratory tasks.
  • Maintain required standards of cleanliness within the DMPK laboratory.
  • Collaborate closely with the Team Leader to ensure adherence to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Assist in the preparation, maintenance, and updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within the department.
  • Help prepare Study Plans and/or Technical Documents in consultation with the Team Leader.
  • Conduct in vivo and/or in vitro experiments to generate samples for DMPK studies (e.g., in vivo PK, in vitro CaCo2, protein binding).
  • Utilize appropriate sample preparation techniques (e.g., liquid extraction, SPE, automation) for bioanalysis.
  • Communicate with the Instrument Supervisor regarding any equipment that does not meet the required standards within the DMPK department.
  • Perform analysis of biological samples using techniques such as HPLC-MS, HPLC-radiochemical.
  • Use relevant software for capturing and processing raw data.
  • Assist in data collation and interpretation in consultation with the Team Leader.
  • Ensure data recording and checking are performed in compliance with GLP, maintaining complete, accurate, and up-to-date records in study files.
  • Assist in preparing scientific summaries and reports in consultation with the Team Leader.
