The role involves managing the finance function, including day-to-day operations, financial reporting, treasury management, and budgeting.

The position offers a salary of up to £55,000 and includes 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays.
The role requires a hands-on approach and experience in Sage 50 is advantageous but not essential.

The Opportunity:An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager/Financial Controller to join a profitable and interesting industrial SME business based in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. As part of a small team, the Financial Controller will have full responsibility for the Finance function, providing lots of variety as the role covers end to end finance. Main duties/responsibilities:

Day to day accounting operations;
Financial reporting - preparation of monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts;
Treasury management including Forex transactions;
Leading the audit;
Maintaining internal controls;
Budgeting and forecasting;
Supporting the business with financial strategy and decision-making processes; and
Ad-hoc duties e.g. supporting the business across various functions such as procurement and sales

You will be/have:

A qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)
Proven experience as a Finance Manager/Controller
Comfortable taking a hands-on approach
A strong team player
Capable of running the finance function autonomously and managing one direct report
Sage 50 experience an advantage, but not essential

Benefits:

Salary of up to £55,000
25 days' holiday plus bank holidays
Working hours 8.30am - 5pm Monday to Thursday with an option to leave early on a Friday depending on workload (degree of flexibility on start/finish times if required)
