Live In Housekeeper Job - Nr Thirsk North Yorkshire - start ASAP - 2 bed cottage accommodation - £28,000+ GPA

Our client is looking for an experienced Housekeeper to help run a busy family home near Thirsk. The home is in a rural location so the family are looking for a country loving Housekeeper who can manage their own time, be flexible, have a positive attitude and who is happy to muck in.

You will be looking after a large 6 bedroom home. The family have two school aged children, small dogs, a cat, chickens and a pony.

This will be a hands on role and the client is looking for a Housekeeper who has had previous experience working in a family home in a similar role.

Duties will include:

  • Hands on cleaning including dusting, vacuuming, bed making, bathroom cleaning, polishing wood floors, care of antiques and silver
  • Household and family laundry and ironing
  • Organising the home
  • Running errands
  • Shopping
  • Occasional help with school runs
  • Occasional babysitting
  • Household security
  • House and pet sitting - you will be in sole charge of the house and pets (not the pony) during this time and the family are normally away during the school holidays, also possibly Christmas and New Years. Your own holidays must be coordinated with the family.
  • Light meal preparation - basic family cooking

Car can be provided for work use - driver essential

Enhanced DBS check and excellent references required

Hours will normally be 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday for example 8.30 to 5.30 with an hours break for lunch

Some flexibility on the occasional weekend required with prior notice

Accommodation offered is a 2 bed cottage with its own outside area and log burner. Pets and partners considered. Rent free, council tax paid, £200 monthly contribution towards utility bills and 1 tank of oil provided by the employer annually.
