Maintenance Engineer

Location: Dalton, Thirsk

Salary: starting £50,000 ( increasing to £53,000 after probation ) plus bonus and overtime

Hours: Rotating weekly shift pattern. Monday to Friday Early / Lates 45 hours a week

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a small engineering team for a very well established and growing company.

The job function is to carry out multi-skilled Maintenance tasks. The role would require the skills of an experienced maintenance type of person with a electrical bias.

There will be up to 6 occasions per year, where there will be a requirement to cover for holidays for the night shift engineer.

Responsibilities:

· Perform full range of plant maintenance tasks and repairs on a proactive/reactive basis.

· Process optimisation to ensure maximum efficiency.

· Implement equipment reliability improvements and develop new maintenance workflow methods and techniques.

· Manage own workflow to remain within maintenance budget.

· Ensure availability of critical spares.

· Oversee projects when required.

Key Skills and qualifications:

· Thorough understanding of EHS and a safety culture

· Post apprenticeship experience.

· Electro-Mechanical fault finding/repairs to PLC controlled plant. Includes pneumatic and hydraulics.

· Carrying out Preventative maintenance tasks.

· Strong communication and organisational skills, able to provide detailed shift reports.

· A high drive and energy level, can-do attitude, and excellent attention to detail.

· Be flexible, adjust shifts to cover another engineer’s holiday.

· Prepared to participate in training and development.

· Ensure all planned and routine maintenance are carried out and documented on the CMMS.

· Technical school higher qualification (NVQ) or bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent knowledge with relevant hands on experience.

· Electrical qualification.

· Excellent technical, analytical, and fault-finding skills.

· Proven continuous improvement skills.
