Oversee and manage all site supply chain operations encompassing raw material ordering and finished goods planning. Implement Best Practice Supply Chain Systems into the Site.

Role and Responsibilities

Raw material control:

Ensure that material ordering and stock control is effectively managed, supplying the factory requirements and keeping the working stock capital to target maintaining re-order models based on history, sales forecasts and delists.

Manage and report on slow moving and obsolete stock.

Manage agreed purchasing contracts and support with cost saving initiatives on raw materials working closely with the Group Directors, Site Director and Group Purchasing Manager.

Work closely with the Group Purchasing Manager to optimise economical re-order quantities.

Re-order and stock management of hygiene chemicals, factory PPE and consumables.

Control and plan the cleaning of the site returnable plastic trays and dolavs.

Work closely with the Goods In Manager and Shift Manager to streamline supply to the factory minimizing downtime.

Utilise vcompanytransport to backloads for material supply where appropriate working with the Transport Manager.

Ensure that controllable costs are effectively managed within agreed standards

Finished Goods Planning:

Ensure that the manufacturing team receives the quality of information to enable maximum efficiency.

Construct a daily finished goods plan and monitor performance to this for the RTE Chicken and Trim factories, maintaining suitable planning models based on history, forecasts and delists. Minimize factory plan changes.

Plan risk finished goods stock to ensure there are no stock write offs.

Ensure that order fill and service level agreements are met for our customers, support with customer communications for shortages, new product launches / delists and seasonal planning.

Complete forward 13 week plans for the factory volumes, Labour requirement by area and PPM schedules, utliise retailer forecasting systems as required such as the Aldi Edge system.

Communicate finished goods and material changes across the business as necessary to Finance, Technical, Production and Transport functions. Liaise with the Commercial team as necessary.

Work closely with the Transport Manager planning production to maximize trunking efficiency and reduce extra direct deliveries.

Keep up to date with technological innovations, MRP and planning tools and implement

as appropriate with the relevant stakeholders.

Ensure that third party logistics/supply contracts are effectively managed.

Implement and maintain performance management systems that identifies objectives, targets and training needs

Compile and issue the weekly Supply Chain KPI to include stock levels, working stock capital cost (), Customer shortages, plan changes and direct transport runs.

Build and maintain a positive and constructive employee relations climate through effective dialogue with employees and their representatives

Ensure adherence to relevant health and safety / food legislation.

Key Skills Qualifications Requirements

Graduate and or with significant experience of Food manufacturing.

Short Shelf life experience is essential

Skilled in people management

Numerate with a clear understanding of cost drivers

Knowledge of and experience of Best Practise Manufacturing

Knowledge of legislation governing Food Compliance, Health and Safety and Employment Law
