Blue Arrow are currently recruiting a Shift Engineering Team Leader to work for an established, growing business in the Thornton and Leyland area.

Salary: £49579.00 per annumContract type: Permanent

Location Thornton - Post code FY7

Working hours: Average 37.8 hours per week, 12 hour shifts, 5 shift system, 24/76am - 6pm / 6pm - 6am - 2 days, 2 nights 4 off on 7 cycles followed by an 18 day break.

Roles and responsibilities:

Technical Duties

  • Oversee tasks and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Maintain and operate equipment according to standards.

Monitoring and Reporting Support

  • Facilitate meetings, briefings, and training sessions.
  • Record, analyse, and report on activities.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance

  • Lead safety initiatives and promote safety awareness.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and conduct inspections.
  • Investigate and report accidents, implementing corrective actions.

Operational Support

  • Facilitate communication between team members and departments.
  • Collaborate with various departments for efficient operations.
  • Communicate shift status for seamless transitions.

Leadership Duties

  • Allocate resources for safe and efficient operations.
  • Plan, allocate, and follow up on activities.
  • Lead during emergency situations.

People Management

  • Provide guidance, support, and coaching to team members.

Required Skills / Qualifications Required:

  • ONC/HNC Mechanical or Electrical qualification or equivalent experience with supporting qualifications
  • Experience in leading a team and coaching team members
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and allocate resources effectively
  • Ability to identify issues, analyse root causes, and implement solutions

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of the Waste processing industry
  • Detailed knowledge of waste processing plant, machinery and associated systems or FMCG Chemical and industrial industries.
  • Health and Safety Qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH)
  • Knowledge of working with CMMS software applications
