Intervention Teacher Opportunity - No Planning!

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and knowledgeable Teacher to join a Primary school in Croydon for the rest of the academic year.

We are seeking a dedicated Intervention Teacher to support small groups and individual pupils in Key Stage 1 and Lower Key Stage 2. This is a full-time position with a flexible start date for the right person. This role does not involve planning but requires you to follow a scheme and make the intervention sessions your own.

This school offers excellent support and progression opportunities, with a highly experienced and knowledgeable SLT who welcome candidates interested in temp to perm' opportunities. The school also offers parking and is local to a train station.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver targeted Phonics intervention sessions to small groups.
  • Provide early reading support and conduct 1:1 reading sessions to improve literacy skills.
  • Identify and address gaps in learning to ensure progress.
  • Work closely with class teachers to align interventions with classroom teaching.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed.

About you
  • Qualified Teacher Status and relevant teaching experience.
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum. Specifically, Phonics and Early Literacy.
  • Ability to engage and motivate young learners.
  • Able to adapt your teaching methods dependent on age and ability.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A passion for supporting pupils to develop confidence and independence in reading.
