Destination Education are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary School Teacher to join the key stage 1 team at an excellent school based in South London. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters the intellectual and social development of students in either year 1 or year 2. This role requires strong communication skills, a commitment to educating children, and effective behaviour management techniques to ensure a positive classroom atmosphere.

Duties
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to promote a collaborative learning environment.
  • Educate students in core subjects, including literacy, numeracy, science, and social studies, while integrating creative activities to enhance learning.
  • Manage classroom behaviour through positive reinforcement strategies and establish clear expectations for student conduct.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected.
  • Collaborate with other educators and staff to develop school-wide initiatives that promote student engagement and success.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
Qualifications
  • A recognised teaching qualification in Primary education.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with students of varying abilities.
  • Experience in behaviour management techniques that promote positive interactions among students.
  • A genuine passion for educating young children and fostering their love for learning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while also demonstrating independence when required.
  • Previous experience in an elementary school setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
