Higher Level Teaching Assistant Location: Boys Junior School, Thornton Heath, CroydonPosition: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (8:30am - 4:00pm)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our supportive and vibrant team at our boys' junior school (Year 3 - Year 6) in Thornton Heath, Croydon. This is a full-time, term-time role where you'll play a key part in supporting students and working closely with teachers to help create an enriching learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality classroom support to teachers and pupils.
  • Assist in planning and delivering engaging lessons, tailored to individual student needs.
  • Support children with a range of abilities, including those with special educational needs.
  • Help create a positive, structured learning environment.
  • Manage classroom behaviour and promote a growth mindset in students.
  • Work collaboratively with the school leadership team and other teaching staff.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing feedback and guidance where necessary.

Key Requirements:

  • HLTA Qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with primary-aged children (preferably in a junior school setting).
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum and how to support learning.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A positive, patient, and enthusiastic approach to working with children.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
