Great opportunity to join the friendly HR & OD team as an Employee Relations (ER) Advisor!

Becky at JT Recruit is waiting to hear from you, she is working with an NHS Trust in Croydon who provideintegrated healthcare across Croydon. With a team of over 3,600 staff, they offer a wide range of services, including Croydon University Hospital, Purley War Memorial Hospital, and specialised community care for patients of all ages, who believe their employees are their greatest asset and looking for someone who shares this commitment and can help foster a supportive and professional work environment.

The Role:

As a temporary Employee Relations (ER) Advisor on a direct engagement assignment, you'll be at the heart of supporting the staff with HR guidance and advice. Your work will involve managing complex sickness absence cases, providing advice on HR policies, and supporting managers with employee relations matters. You’ll also play a key role in promoting staff wellbeing and ensuring a safe, respectful work culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support sickness absence cases from start to finish
  • Provide expert advice to managers on HR policies and employee relations matters
  • Lead on flexible working requests, professional registration renewals, and probation periods
  • Liaise with Occupational Health and assist with redeployment and ill-health retirement processes
  • Support HR case management and staff relations with a compassionate, solution-focused approach

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in HR or Employee Relations, ideally within the NHS or a similar sector
  • Strong understanding of employment law, employee relations, and HR policies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A compassionate and professional attitude towards staff welfare
  • CIPD qualification (or working towards) is desirable but not essential
