Mechanical Maintenance Engineer wanted for a busy manufacturing plant in Coalville. The Successful candidate will have strong mechanical technical ability and strong organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for subcontractor management and safety
  • Access previous 24 hours of shift report, reviewing detailed logs and discussing the performance and challenges with engineers from the previous shift
  • Conduct pre-inspections and ensure proper implementation of Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM). Identify and address any abnormalities on the factory floor
  • Actively participate in morning meetings, bringing back information from the previous shift, including root cause analysis of any issues encountered
  • Responsible for identifying and eliminating recurring plant issues through engineering improvements

Requirements:

  • Manufacturing experience and have a solid understanding and demonstrable experience of working with hydraulics, pneumatics, other mechanical components, fault-finding on automated machinery and equipment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
  • Computer literate
  • Proactive and results-driven approach to engineering improvements

Applicants must hold a Mechanical Engineering qualification such as an Apprenticeship or Level 3 NVQ with BTEC Level 3 or above, City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering/Craft studies
