Our client has a full-time vacancy for a Certification Systems Coordinator to work in their PPE Certification department based in Kettering.Â
About The Department
The PPE Certification team spans the UK, Ireland, Sri Lanka, Finland, Turkey and China and is responsible for the technical assessment of PPE against both the EU and UK PPE Regulations. The technical assessments conducted by this expert team ensure that products are fit for purpose and comply with the relevant international standards. If successful in their assessment, the manufacturer of these products may affix the CE/UKCA mark to their product. This business is heavily guided by regulation, and it’s required to operate a robust UKAS and INAB accredited ISO 17065 quality management system (QMS).
About The Role
- Reporting to the Head of Product Certification and working closely with colleagues throughout the department and our corporate Quality team, you will take ownership of the department’s QMS.
- Key day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Maintain and improve the internal ISO 17065 Quality System within the PPE Certification department
- Work with the Quality Team to plan, schedule and oversee internal audits of the ISO 17065 QMS
- Conduct internal audits for PPE Certification activities against the QMS and agreed procedures
- Conduct gap analysis of new product working groups that are intended to capture and develop the companies product knowledge and technical capabilities
- Coordinate external committee attendance at European Vertical and Horizontal committees, including the maintenance and circulation of any resulting documentation such as agendas and meeting minutes
- Monitor and update external systems intended to notify key stakeholders of significant Certification decisions
- Coordinate departmental training activities and the resulting records to ensure capture of staff competency
- Develop, review and revise internal and external documents and templates to ensure clear, accurate and efficient communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Implement, analyse and report on quality metrics and key performance indicators
- Coordinate, analyse and report on departmental customer surveys and on-time delivery
- Fulfilment of additional administrative and quality related tasks as required
About You
- Experience: laboratory or certification body experience OR qualifications to A-Level grade c or equivalent in a science-based subject or Mathematics
- Regulatory knowledge: Knowledge of UK and EU regulations related to PPE, including the Personal Protective Equipment Regulation (EU) 2016/425 would be advantageous but not essential
- Technical expertise: Experience of ISO 17065 quality management systems or working within an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory environment would be advantageous but not essential
- Highly organised
- Analytical Thinking: Excellent analytical skills to evaluate and assess product conformity, identify non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions
- Language: Excellent English language skills are essential for this role, both verbal and written
- Communication: Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Detail-oriented: Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in assessments, documentation and compliance verification
- Problem solving: Demonstratable creativity and perseverance to overcome problems
