What you’ll do:

As CNC Machinist you’ll be responsible for setting and operating our CNC machines in line with the delivery requirements of the business. 

Your main responsibilities will be to:

• Set and operate CNC machines using the set-up sheets, tooling/fixtures and Edgecam programmes provided by our Production Engineering team
• Run machines in line with the speeds and feeds required whilst monitoring performance to ensure cycle times are met
• Carry out in-cycle parts inspections using measuring equipment including micrometres and verniers
• Identify non-conforming parts and report immediately, ensuring root cause is established, documented, and passed to Production Team Leaders
• Actively support colleagues on LBB’s apprenticeship programme including assisting with their on the job learning
• Take responsibility for the quality and inspection of your work including ownership of cleaning and de-burring parts

What you’ll need:

• Experience in all aspects of production machining, both manual and CNC, gained via an apprenticeship or equivalent programme of development
• Experience and knowledge in working with duplex and nickel alloy materials
• Safety first attitude with understanding and experience of operating 5S plus safety practices
• Ability to flex priorities and duties depending on the needs of the business
• Experienced in all aspects of workshop practices including understanding of engineering drawings, proficient using micrometres and able to convert imperial to metric
• Ability to manage workload and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Collaborative approach to problem solving and implementing changes to ensure the business meets its production targets.
