Transport Clerks Wanted In LEICESTER!

Logistics People are looking for Transport Clerk based at our Eddie Stobart Leicester depot.

Our customer is one of the biggest names within the HGV industry, with the latest vehicles on the market, which means you get the best HGV experience and a top range vehicle to work with.

Working Hours:

  • Continental Shift Pattern

Salary:

  • £25,676 Per Annum

You will be working alongside the Senior Transport Clerk and transport team responsible for providing on-site operational and administrative support. Responsibilities start with checking-in and checking-out registration of drivers, despatching drivers and completing key documentation.

Main Responsibilities & Objectives:

  • Efficient processing of end of shift detail including driver and vehicle updates and document receipt
  • Adherence to all Company and Legislative compliance standards
  • Accurate and timely allocation of drivers, vehicles and documents

Compliance:

  • Ensure that systems housekeeping is continually maintained
  • Monitor and report compliance issues to the Shift Manager
  • Liaise with on-site team members to ensure that reporting detail is accurate and appropriate
  • Assist with the administration and validation of drivers’ hours in GTS including relevant WTD information, shift start and finish times
  • Brief & de-brief own and Agency drivers to the required protocols

Despatch:

  • Print dockets and manifests in preparation for despatch
  • Using GTS, proactively monitor driver start times and escalate any absence or late arrivals to Shift Manager
  • Monitor the Depot Vehicle Keyboard to ensure adequate vehicle capacity to meet demand, escalating any concerns if necessary
  • Efficiently and accurately despatch drivers with all required documents and instructions, ensuring correct allocation of units and trailers
  • Ensure timely and accurate input of vehicle and driver detail in GTS Loading and Despatch Module
  • Liaise with Driver Control and Customer Service to ensure customer is aware of any potential delays or real-time issues
  • Update Planning with any issues affecting the execution of the Plan
  • Assist with Debrief, Driver Control, Customer Service and GTS housekeeping as directed by on shift management
  • Support Customer Service as point of contact for queries prior to collection/after delivery and re-direct to appropriate person
  • Assist in investigation of late / failed deliveries to provide root cause information to Contract Manager
  • Update required reports / spreadsheets daily
  • Check accuracy of driver paperwork

Debrief:

  • Co-ordinate all debrief elements ensuring driver vehicle checks, returns information, WTD, pallets, signatures and PODs are correctly processed
  • Debrief Agency drivers at end of shift, capturing relevant information relating to their trailer details as well as shift duty times (Start / Finish / WTD)
  • Fully debrief drivers returning from their run at the end of their shift and investigate any productivity issues.
  • Assist with Despatch, Driver Control, Customer Service and GTS housekeeping as directed by on shift management
  • Support Customer Service as point of contact for queries prior to collection/after delivery and re-direct to appropriate person.
  • Assist in investigation of late / failed deliveries to provide root cause information to Contract Manager.
  • Update required reports / spreadsheets daily
  • Check accuracy of driver paperwork
