Engineering @365 is working with a renowned manufacturer of heavy plant machinery, specialising in the design, production, and maintenance of robust machinery for the construction, mining, and agricultural industries.
Job Description:
As a Welder / Fabricator, you will be responsible for carrying out welding and fabrication tasks on heavy plant machinery, working with mild steel ranging from 8mm to 20mm in thickness. You will work from engineering drawings, using a variety of welding and fabrication techniques to produce high-quality components and assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform MIG welding on mild steel components ranging from 8mm to 20mm thick.

Carry out fabrication tasks, including cutting, grinding, drilling, and shaping materials using hand and air tools.

Read, understand, and work from engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Assemble and weld structural and mechanical components to required specifications.

Inspect welds and fabricated components for quality and compliance with industry standards.

Conduct any necessary rework or repairs to maintain quality standards.

Work collaboratively with the engineering and production teams to troubleshoot fabrication challenges.

Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Requirements:

Proven experience as a Welder / Fabricator, preferably within the heavy plant machinery industry.

Strong proficiency in MIG welding with mild steel between 8mm and 20mm thick.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Experience with fabrication techniques, including cutting, grinding, and drilling.

Skilled in the use of hand and air tools relevant to fabrication work.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
