Overview:The Energy Division at ARM is currently seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer for a leading Nuclear project at the Dounreay Site.

Job Purpose:An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Civil Engineer to join the Dounreay Low-Level Waste Disposal Facility within Site Services. The role involves managing and delivering the engineering requirements of the disposal facility in accordance with the Environmental Safety Case.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage technical engineering strategies, plans, and procedures.

  • Create and implement a delivery strategy for the engineering and safety case, adapting plans as necessary to accommodate changes.

  • Apply health, safety, environmental, and waste management processes to operational and engineering activities, consulting specialists when needed.

  • Validate the completion of tasks to ensure compliance with procedures, legislation, and quality standards.

  • Collaborate with and support the D3100 Design Authority.

  • Establish and maintain Design Authority arrangements.

  • Develop a strong technical team to deliver fit-for-purpose engineering design and safety project execution, supporting the Site Performance Plan.

  • Undertake the duties of Temporary Works Coordinator.

  • Support the Project Manager and Facility Operations team as required.

  • Manage staff as a Line Manager.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Extensive civil engineering design and site experience.

  • Strong understanding of the supply chain and knowledge of CDM Regulations.

  • Familiarity with NEC3 and NEC4 contracts, ideally with NEC Project Manager accreditation.

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification meeting Engineering Council Standards for Incorporated Engineers.
