Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced EC&I Engineer ideally with a background in Nuclear or Defence, to be engaged on a long-term contract basis, based in Thurso, Scotland.
Overview
The decommissioning operations carried out will require the deployment of the bespoke plant. This facility requires the support of an experienced EC&I Engineer with a comprehensive knowledge of the bespoke plant, to ensure effective operations and maintenance of the plant and maintain project progress. The operations team require the support and leadership of experienced of an EC&I engineer. This support has been provided to date through a now expired Framework.
Core Requirements of Role
- Oversight of the operation and maintenance of site.
- Provide support to the project during the operation and maintenance of the facility
- Review and update of the operational procedures for site
- Take lead on all aspects of bespoke site equipment maintenance e.g. Cell including Manipulators, flask line equipment etc.
- Support Maintenance with the generic maintenance e.g. cranes, lifting equipment etc.
- Accept appointments associated with EC&I engineer role.
- Ensure the configuration control of the plant and that Design Authority compliance is maintained.
- Identify resource requirements to deliver engineering tasks.
- Apply health, safety, environmental and waste management processes with engineering activities taking advice where necessary from appropriate specialists.
- Validate the completion of activities to ensure compliance with procedures, legislation and quality standards.
Specific Knowledge / Experience Required
- Experience of design, development, manufacture, off site testing, on site installation, commissioning and fault finding of nuclear plant, specifically including the following:
- Remote Handling systems and tooling including manipulators
- Process Cells
- Alkali/liquid metal containing systems
- Nitrogen gas services control
- Atmospheric monitoring (moisture and oxygen) systems
