We're seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented LCL Import Operator to join our team at Uniserve Group. As a key member of our Sea Freight department, you'll play a vital role in ensuring smooth and efficient import operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Liaison: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Haulage Coordination: Arrange efficient haulage with shipping lines and hauliers.
  • Data Management: Accurately complete customer and supplier spreadsheets.
  • Rate and Invoice Management: Ensure shipments are correctly rated and invoiced.
  • Financial Management: Raise sales invoices and secure payments, resolve invoice queries, and process supplier invoices.
  • Customer Support: Address customer queries and complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Cost Negotiation: Negotiate and agree on competitive haulage prices with suppliers.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Strong Organisational Skills: The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in all aspects of the role.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • IT Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and relevant industry software (e.g., Multifreight, One World).
  • Basic Understanding of: Customs regulations, air freight, warehousing, sea freight, sales, road freight, and supply chain principles.
