Opportunity to help deliver the UK's largest Gas Peaking project
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Contract Mechanical Site Engineer to join the Principal Contractor on a gas peaker construction site. This is a 12-month contract position.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct FAT/SAT testing to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Manage deliveries on site, coordinating with suppliers and logistics.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure high-quality installation by subcontractors.
- Monitor and enforce health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Supervise and inspect mechanical installations, ensuring adherence to design specifications and standards.
- Coordinate and communicate with other engineering disciplines to resolve interface issues.
- Prepare and maintain accurate site documentation, including progress reports, logs, and inspection records.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation and review of method statements and risk assessments.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the site team and subcontractors.
- Attend site meetings and provide updates on progress and any issues encountered.
- Oversee the commissioning and handover process of completed installations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Engineer on construction projects.
- Mechanical qualification
- Strong understanding of FAT/SAT testing procedures.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Familiarity with mechanical installation techniques and standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
