Company Overview: Our client, a leading company in the power generation industry, is seeking a highly experienced Mechanical / Construction Supervisor for a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will work on a major project in Thurrock, overseeing the installation and construction of key mechanical components in a power station environment.
Job Description: The Mechanical / Construction Supervisor will be responsible for managing and overseeing the installation and construction activities at the power station site. This role requires extensive experience working with a Principal Contractor, with a particular focus on mechanical systems such as pipework, structural steelwork, and pumps. The successful candidate will ensure that all activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the installation and construction of mechanical systems, including pipework, structural steelwork, and pumps.
- Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Oversee the activities of subcontractors and ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with other supervisors, engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless project execution.
- Monitor progress and provide regular updates to the project management team.
- Conduct inspections and quality control checks to ensure the highest standards of workmanship.
- Identify and resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise during construction.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical / Construction Supervisor with a Principal Contractor.
- Extensive experience overseeing the installation and construction of mechanical systems in a power station environment.
- Strong knowledge of pipework, structural steelwork, and pumps.
- Excellent understanding of construction processes, codes, and standards.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Ability to effectively coordinate and communicate with subcontractors, engineers, and project managers.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues efficiently.
- Commitment to safety and quality.
- Relevant certifications and qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field.
